To The Rescue!

Today we had a nice Saturday afternoon relaxing and hanging out with some of our good friends, Josh and Kessa.   Kevin decides he is hungry and only wanted Hebrew National dogs.  So, Josh and Kev run to the store to grab everything we needed for lunch.  As they were grilling the dogs they hear a kitten meowing.  Yep, we had a kitten stuck under our deck.  Poor little guy.  I will let the pictures explain the rest of our afternoon.  As you will notice in most of the pictures it is Kessa and I working to rescue the kitten.  Josh and Kev disappeared and ended up in our basement playing video games.  Those boys!

We could hear him but we could not see him!
Still could NOT see him...
Kessa is brilliant..."Let's spray him out"

He was hiding back behind that tiny space.
The water did the trick. He came out within seconds.
Kessa with Stubby. A good name for his stubborn personality!
Saying our goodbyes before we took him to Paws and Claws.

The car ride to Paws and Claws. Isn't he adorable?
He will be up for adoption soon.  I hope he finds a good home!
They said he was about two weeks old.

Dinner, Shopping, and a Movie

Kevin and I have been enjoying our Friday night dates!  Last Friday we stayed in, ordered pizza, and watched a movie.  We both voted on watching To Save A Life and agreed that was a great choice.  Very powerful movie!  This Friday we decided to live a little and go out for the evening.  We enjoyed a nice dinner at Olive Garden and then did a little shopping.   After Kevin hit his “wall” of shopping we headed to the movies to see Contagion.  Not to sure how to rate this movie yet?  We really have enjoyed our simple date nights together.  We both were saying last night how we are looking forward to seeing what we draw next out of our “date night” jar! Having our date night jar full of ideas has made us feel a little more spontaneous and has actually put a new twist of excitement to our dates!

The Deal of Last Week!!!

I scored BIG when I found this dusty Fisher Price Intellitainer for a whopping $5.00.  I did some research to see what kind of a deal I got and I read on a few websites that it is rated 5 stars. To buy this brand new it would be anywhere from $70.00 - $99.00! I heart garage sales!

Tonight Kevin and I had family night by relaxing on the couch and talking about life and all the changes we will have in the coming months. Then we cleaned and disinfected our "new" toy that we found for Logan. I think we might do something like this all over again tomorrow night!

Mom and Nana = Fun Times!

It has been almost two years since I have seen my mom and Nana.  I would say it was about time that we spent some time together.   The last 12 days have been such a fun time together!  Well, with one exception and I will share that with you at the end.

For our first outing we went to the Niagara Cave.  Kevin and I thought this would be a perfect day trip for the four of us to get away! Nana did amazing with the 250 steps she had to climb. (Each way) If I recall correctly my mom was the only one complaining of sore legs the following day!

One evening we stayed home and did a little bowling…on the Wii.  To our surprise we enjoyed ourselves way more than we expected.  We even have the pictures and video to prove it!

Mom and Nana can’t come for a visit without us taking them to the Cities.  Chanhassen Theater here we come! We enjoyed our evening having a nice dinner and watching the musical Hairspray.  Before the show started we visited the gift shop and Nana bought me a new study Bible.  I was beyond happy and she got what she needed… something to sit on so she could see the stage.  We sure did get a few good laughs from her ulterior motives.

The following evening we headed back to the Cities to spend the evening with our birth family.  We all had a wonderful time talking, laughing and getting to know each other.  We truly have enjoyed getting to know Katelyn and her family.  We look forward to seeing them again soon!  They ALL are such a blessing to our family.  We sure did miss you Megan and we hope school is treating you kindly!

Nana decided to give us a HUGE scare the morning before their plane was scheduled to leave.  Saturday morning she woke up and the room was spinning to the point we had to call 911 and have the ambulance transport her to the hospital.  After 3 days of testing, treatments, and laying flat on her back the doctors determined she had a severe case of Vertigo and they were able to get her “rocks” in her head back in place.  Nana was a trooper and never loss her sense of humor.  We praise the Lord for protecting her, allowing everything to go smoothly with the airlines, and giving Nana the strength to fly home the day after she was released from the hospital.

We had a full 12 days together and we are already looking forward to next time!

Saturday Mornings at the Farmers Market

There is one thing that makes the Farmers Market experience even better…going with a friend!  Korrie and I have been able to spend a couple of our Saturday mornings together drooling over the smells and bright colors of all the fresh fruits and vegetables.   We have high hopes of getting to the point where we have our menus planned and grocery lists in hand as we hit the pavement to buy our fresh fruits and veggies for the entire week!

For $5.00 this was my centerpiece for the week!
