A Summer Day at Oxbow

Kevin, Logan, and I met up with the Yager family to enjoy a summer day at Oxbow.   We spent a few hours  walking around and chatting while the kiddos enjoyed looking at all the animals.  It was the perfect outing to enjoy as a family.  After seeing all the animals it was time for a picnic lunch.  We had a nice breeze, fresh food, and some good laughs!

Getting it Down

We introduced Logan to the straw and Sippy cup a couple of weeks ago.  He is slowly making progress.  It is fun watching him "think" while trying to figure it out. Right now he is only getting about 2 ounces of water a day with a splash of pear juice to help him go potty. Too fun!

Simple Things in Life

It has been fun getting back into some of my hobbies.  Pinterest sure has put me in the mood for crafts!  I found this wonderful idea of a “to do” list that used a frame, dry eraser marker, and scrapbook paper.  It was so simple and I use it ALL the time.  I first hung it on my wall, but soon moved it to my kitchen counter for convenience.   This week I even caught Kevin using it!

I also have taken the time to start Logan’s baby book.  I am slowly fading away from scrapbooking, with my increased interest in blogging.  Kevin and I will be turning our family blog into yearly family books.  We are excited to see our first one, but it seems like a daunting task.  It will be a good project for Kevin and I to do together!  With that said I still wanted to do Logan a baby book including his life story and all his milestones.  I am not sure how many years I will scrapbook for him, but I hope to stay up to date the best I can!

Perfect Day for a Play Date

It was the perfect day to spend the day outdoors. While looking at the weather last night, I called up Allison to see if she would bring the kids over today for a pool play date. I actually can not remember the last time I have had her and the kids over for the afternoon. So, this was way over due! After we got the kids fed we spent the rest of the time in the pool and playing on the swing set.  Turned out to be a wonderful and relaxing time together. I must add we had a great conversation talking about life and all we have going on in our families!

The water was a little colder then he is use too. He still played
in the water, but not near as many smiles this time around!

 Getting their heads wet!

Tanner SO wanted some of Ashley's Popsicle.

A Day Around the House

Some days it is a struggle to motivate myself to do much around the house.  Especially when you have a little guy in such a fun mood!  I must say that I did make it to Trader Joes and the Farmers Market, so I do feel somewhat accomplished.  Dinner is now over, Kevin is downstairs working, Logan is in bed, and now I am getting a few more things done before calling it an early night. I just had to post a few pictures of my day!

Pool Time!

After we got home from our camping trip we decided to pull out the pool that we bought for Logan.  The first time we tried to put Logan in his pool he cried as soon as his feet hit the water.  We knew we needed to wait a while longer.  The time has come that he does enjoy his pool! We are happy about this and plan on pulling it out often until the end of the summer.  Fun times will be going on in our backyard!

The question is how many pictures can you take of your child splashing water? TONS!

Our Special 4th of July Celebration

This year we joined Kevin’s family in Clear Lake for their annual 4th of July celebration.  We had all of the family there with us except for Josh, Rachael, and Luke.  You all were missed!  Despite the heat we still had a wonderful time.  I am positive Kevin, I, and Logan would not have made it without the air conditioning of a camper.  Thank you Gene and Brenda for letting us bunk with your family.  It was wonderful to lay our heads down each night with air blowing at our feet!

Our home away from home

Logan was such a good boy for his 1st camping trip.  It was so much fun watching him experience new things each day.  We took him to his first parade.  Every year Kevin’s family spreads out on the Prunty’s yard and watches the 4th of July parade.  The parade goes right past their home!  Logan and I scored a seat right under a tree.  Shade was limited, so we scored BIG!

The lake felt mighty refreshing with how hot it was over the 4th.  I am not a fan of muddy water, but at this point I didn’t even mind!  We brought Logan down to the lake with us one late afternoon and he had a ball.  At first he was unsure, but once he got going he did NOT want to leave…tears and all.  We all enjoyed our time on the lake.   We floated down the lake on our tubes, kayaks,  and Dad’s new little boat was a big hit too!

We spent a lot of time at our campsite just hanging out, playing games, eating, and resting.   Oh, and cooling off!

Getting all clean after swimming in the lake.

The four siblings.
The two cooks for the week. Nothing but yummy food came
from their kitchen!

Getting ready for the campgrounds fireworks. They actually were
pretty good!

Kevin and I ended up having a “date night” while in Clear Lake.  Mom and Tami stayed back at the campsite, to watch Logan, while we all went to the carnival and firework show on July 4th.  Let’s just say Kevin was on cloud nine.  I think he had more fun than the kids!  It really was a good time.  The weather actually was nice and breezy.  Even though it was crowded we all had good seats to watch the fireworks right off the lake. We didn't get home until around 1 a.m. That just doesn't happen anymore with us!

To end our celebrations we woke up on Thursday morning, had a yummy breakfast, packed, and then headed to the church for Logan’s family dedication.  Kevin and I thought it would be special to have Pastor Dan, our brother-in-law, perform Logan’s dedication.  With almost all of the family together we thought this would be the perfect time.  Before we left for our camping trip Dan contacted the church to see if they would let us use their sanctuary   (We have family connections with the pastor at the church). This time with the family was very special.  We are so blessed to have a large family that loves the Lord and is dedicated to living our lives for Him.  Kevin and I take it seriously to continue passing down strong family values and the importance of a relationship with Jesus Christ.  We are committed to raising Logan to love the Lord and we pray he is a strong warrior for Him one day!

All the cousins.

To end the dedication Kevin and I played the song that we have chosen to dedicate to Logan as his lifelong song.  The lyrics in this song say exactly what our prayer and hope is for you Logan, we love you more than words can say!
