Proud Mommy Moment

This morning during our reading time I sat Logan on my lap and let him flip through the pages.  Normally, I point to the pictures and say what each thing is and the sounds they make. This morning Logan took control. He opened the page and pointed at the Kitty and said, "Kitty".  He went on to point at the keys, ball, car, and lion calling them by name. At 19 months Logan is now saying: Bye-bye, tickle-tickle, eat, G-pa, Daddy,  "T" (for Aunt Tami), Blue, Kitty, keys, ball, car, hello, please, juice, cheese, TV, and hi. A few fun things he has started doing is: putting his hands together to pray to Jesus, stands in front of the T.V. and pretends to workout, runs to the door anytime he hears a car coming up the street, runs to the radio in the kitchen when he wants to dance, and goes to his closet door when it is time to get dressed...he picks out his close to wear. Everyday he is learning news things. It is such a blessing to spend my days raising our son. There is no where else I would rather be. Love having the most important job in the world!

Let's go to the FAIR!

We had no intentions of taking Logan to the fair this year, with him being so young. BUT, after talking to some friends and finding out it was free admission and there was a petting zoo we quickly changed our minds. Logan's favorite part about the fair was running around in the dirt. Out of all the animals his favorite was the turtles. Yes, out of seeing sheep, deer, and many other animals he kept going back to the turtles. Kevin kept saying how fun next year is going to be when Logan can ride a few rides. I better start a savings fund NOW! It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon for all of us!

Too close, Daddy!

Just Living Life!

We have been doing our best to enjoy the simple things in life.  Quick family trips, time at the zoo, playing outside, skyping with Poppy and Grammy, spending time with family and friends, teaching Logan new things, crafts, and gardening.  With all the fun there has been little time to spend on the computer.  Which is a good thing!  One thing I have been sure to do is to capture all the memories by videos and photos.  Logan is growing up before our eyes and I never want to forget the simple days as we live out our day to day lives.

Logan is becoming quite the artist! He has taken up an interest in painting, crafts, and playing with play-doh.  This week we spent two days focusing on the color BLUE.  I must say it was very rewarding watching Logan as he started to  point and say  the color blue. He built a tall blue tower, played with his blue ball, and even helped pick out his blue outfit one morning. I will for sure continue on this path!

Logan thought it was pretty cool that mommy let him play in paint. We spent one morning painting trees for all the Grandparents in his life.  His cute little hands were the leaves! We were not able to give Poppy and Grammy theirs in person, so we Skyped to let them see their 1st painting from Logan. It should arrive in their mailbox soon!

Speaking of Logan's firsts...I let Logan help me make our juice for the 1st time this week. We still can not believe how much he loves this juice. He DOWNS it while daddy has to stomp his foot to get his down. It makes my heart happy knowing how healthy this juice is for him and that he loves it.

Time outside is becoming more fun each day.  Logan has hit the age that he will play with toys in the yard, climb up the slide, run and pop bubbles, and color with sidewalk chalk. It is so fun watching him run around laughing as he falls in the grass!

Parks and picnic lunches have been a weekly activity.  I am pretty sure we will never get tired of spending time playing with friends outside while filling our tummies with yummy food! We were able to meet up with some friends one afternoon. The kids enjoyed running around and playing. It was a little too crowded for Logan to feel comfortable, so I enjoyed snuggle time with him. We also got to spend a Saturday morning with Grandpa and Grandma McMillen at Oxbow Park. The highlight of the afternoon was watching Logan run back and forth on the wooden sidewalks. He got the biggest laughs out of just running around!

We took a little trip to Pipestone, Mn to celebrate Uncle Jim and Aunt Bonnie's 50th wedding anniversary. Everyone in the family camped except us.  We opted to stay in a nice and cool hotel. We loved our little home away from home. Complete with a kitchen! Logan made himself at home in no time. All the festivities (for our immediate family) were held at the campground.  We had one special evening dedicated to celebrate the big 50th Wedding Anniversary. Many memories were made that night. We were reminded how blessed we are as a family. The love of Christ was present that evening as He was the main focus of the celebration!

Now let the Summer continue!
