Fun at State Parks

Kevin, Logan, and I joined Adam and Kathi for a full day of fun.  We started off the morning at Carley State Park. There was a small festival being held at Carley Park and we thought it would be fun to see what it was all about.  We walked around for a short bit and then literally ran back to our car. It was a little too chilly for all of us in our light weight spring attire. After a quick stop at the toilet we headed to Whitewater.  We always enjoy our time at Whitewater.  We found a nice little trail to hike and had some good laughs together.  Once again we ended up running to our car and this time it was due to rain.  While it rained, hailed, and snowed (all on a summer day in May) we sat in our warm car and ate our picnic lunch. The nasty weather did not last long and we were back outdoors enjoying the sunshine and warmer weather. It was such a wonderful day with our friends!

When you add cold weather to drinking lots of water sometimes you need to
find the bathroom fast. This was one of those times!

A Few Dance Moves and Silly Daddy

Bits and Pieces...

of our life lately.  Tonight Kevin told me that I must spend time getting our family blog caught up. So, that  is what I am doing tonight.  I will admit I have LOVED going through all of our pictures from this last month.  I easily forget how blessed we are by the family and friends the Lord has given us.

Today was absolutely beautiful.  Logan and I decided to go for a long walk together.  I have truly enjoyed how much Logan likes to go on walks.  I watch him as he looks around at everything taking it all in.  Today he heard a car coming from behind us and all of a sudden said “CAR” and made his version of how a car sounds.   I have soaked in every stage of his life and it just keeps getting better and better the older he gets!  After our walk we went and picked up Kevin during his lunch break and had a little picnic.

Logan still LOVES his bath time.  He runs to the tub the moment
you say the word bath! (I had to include this picture)

The pictures below were taken yesterday from our evening walk to the park, with Kevin.  It was a quick trip since it was past Logan’s bedtime.  Logan still loves his sleep and goes to bed each night at 6:30 p.m.  Gotta love a kid that likes his sleep!

Logan and I have enjoyed getting out and seeing more of our friends lately.  I will not hide the fact that it has been a hard couple of months for me in the health department.  I am still currently having some rough intestinal issues and doing my best to enjoy Logan and get out when I am having a “good” day.  Praying for complete healing in God’s timing.  Playdates...playdates....playdates...

Having fun with the Yager's at the park!

Spent the morning with the Gommel's at Oxbow Park and Zoo.

Backyard fun with the Stafford's!

Took a nice long walk with Gracie and stopped to see the Geese!

Fun times with Josie and Ryder. Someone loves to swing!

Mother’s Day was a productive and relaxing day.  Logan was in one goofy mood! He has found his silly side and is always looking for ways to make us laugh. He is a little clown when he wants to get attention.  He has starting spinning in circles and throwing himself.  It is all fun and games until he gets hurt in the landing.  He is total boy with lots of bumps and bruises! We captured his silliness when trying to get a Mother’s Day picture. I still can hear his giggles as I look over these pictures. I told Kevin I wanted to keep it simple this year. He pulled it off and gave me the BEST Mother’s Day gift.  He tilled up my garden and put up the fencing! We had fun playing in the dirt together as a family. Nikki and Tami stopped over for a quick visit to wish me a Happy Mother's Day and drop off a few gifts from Grandma Youel and the family. (Later post on the special gift they dropped off)

Every year Kevin has his college roommate, Al, and his nephew, Luke, up for a gaming weekend.  He looks forward to it all year long! Logan and I packed up and had a weekend sleepover with Aunt Tami.  We thought the guys would appreciate a kid free environment. No pictures of the guys, but captured lots of giggles during our sleepover!

Logan takes after his mommy and always wants to see the
picture after it is taken!

The McMillen's invited us over for a BBQ to celebrate Meaghan's birthday!  We always have such a good time with our new extended family. It feels weird saying new since it feels like we have know them for years. I love how the Lord prepares our hearts for the people He places in our life.  We were also excited to get to see Great-Grandma McMillen.  She was in town for a visit and was pretty excited to hear that Logan was going to make it to Meaghan's birthday party. Without a doubt Logan can feel all the love surrounding him every time we visit the McMillen's and their extended family. They shared with us at the party they are getting a pool one day and Logan is going to hold them to it! ;)

We did not let the rain stop us from celebrating Memorial Day.  We  had our watermelon, grilled indoors, and had some ice cream.  Kevin even enjoyed a bottle of his new favorite root beer!

Had a great day celebrating Father's Day with Kevin and his family.  We grilled steaks, the guys went to a baseball game, spent hours outside soaking up the sun, and ended our day with a big family dinner! It really was the perfect day. Can you tell who gets all the attention these days?!?!

Hands down one of the BEST dads!
